Introduction of sleeper to reduce progress rate of the track irregularities, as reflecting the current situation of maintenance status and track construction, is needed among that increase of speed and prevention of the frequent track irregularities which appear in the high-speed ballast track section are required. Accordingly, the wide sleepers which ensure stability of the track by increasing sleeper’s area and rigidity is developed with applied existing maintenance. The characteristic of developed wide sleepers is greatly increased bottom area of the rail seat. In this study, we analyzed quantitatively improvements effect of the wide sleepers through a static finite element analysis(FEA) results. In addition, the design moments with UIC 713R[2] and prEN 13230-6[3] were compared and analyzed to FEA results.
