Structure of Calcium Soap Fibres

PREVIOUS publications on soap particles have contained conflicting views and evidence as to the orientation of the hydrocarbon chains within the particles. This is true even for a single soap, calcium stearate, and may be due to different methods of preparation leading to different crystal habits and/or structures.
