The article asks whether theoretical-experimental and practical psychology are so separate from each other that they represent separate paradigms. After specifying basic concepts the two domains of psychology are compared via ways of using knowledge as the explanatory principle. The conclusion is that the original "paradigm" concept of Kuhn is not sensitive enough to yield a proper answer taking into account the specific character of psychology.
