Modeling and Experimental Performance Results of a Three-stage Proportional Flow Control Valve

2017
This work was carried out to simulate and validate the developed mathematical model. The results from the simulation were then compared with the results from experiments. The main goal of this work was to validate the theoretical model developed by the equations from fluid dynamics. Two aspects of the model, which are investigated, include the flow rate characteristics and the time response characteristics of the valve. Flow rate and time response are one of the primary indicators of the behavior of a hydraulic valve because it affects the working of a hydraulic valve and hence, the overall circuitry of the hydraulic system which the valve operate in. In short, we can say that the purpose of this study was to observe how accurate our mathematical model is under certain conditions of operation.
