The Development of System Reliability Assessment Methodology Using Directed Graph

The new reliability assessment methodology using directed graph is presented. The new methodology is a suc- cess-oriented system reliability assessment technique. The system is modeled by directed graph, which is composed of nodes and arcs. The component of chemical process is classified by functional relation and operational type. The node has four classe s, which are function, operation, logic and aid node. The node can be used to model the operation and failure of physical equipmen ts. The system reliability assessment can be evaluated by sequential analysis of the directed graph. The example of transfer system is given. The new methodology has proved to be a valuable and useful method for system reliability assessment.
