Using Quantile Mapping to Correct WRF Precipitation for Improvement of Runoff Simulation in Manas River Basin

2019
We use quantile mapping (QM) method to calibrate the precipitation from Weather Research Forecasting Model (WRF) and drive the Geomorphology-Based Eco-Hydrological Model (GBEHM) with the corrected precipitation and the raw precipitation. The results show that QM is effective for runoff improvement by adjusting the frequency distribution of the input precipitation. The runoff simulated by corrected precipitation has higher Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency coefficient (NSE), Pearson correlation coefficient (R), and lower root mean square error observation standard deviation ratio (RSR) than the runoff simulated by raw precipitation.
