The invention discloses a brittle coating layer mapping structure surface crack flat-plate scanning detection system and detection method. The system comprises a brittle coating layer, a flat-plate-type optical scanner, a processing unit and an output device. The brittle coating layer is painted on a structure surface to be detected and has a detection plane matching the scanning plane of the flat-plate-type optical scanner. The detection plane is parallel to the structure surface to be detected. Aimed to the condition that present structure surface crack detection devices and methods are difficult to eliminate adverse impacts of structure surface initial defects to reflection signals and detection results, the brittle coating layer plane mapping structure surface crack technology and the flat-plate-type optical scanning and imaging technology are utilized integratedly, substrate structure surface cracks can be mapped accurately, background noise influences of initial geometrical and physical defects of up-and-down, pot holes, color spots, color difference and the like of the substrate structure surface to detection signals can be eliminated from the source, and finally accurate information of geometrical characteristics such as crack width or the like is obtained.
