Cinema fotografato. Film neorealisti e cultura fotografica nel dopoguerra italiano

This paper deals with the role of production still in neorealism, taking into consideration the mutual influence between cinema and photography in those years. Since the film stills are both the trace of some act of recording reality (that is the document of a document) and a kind of re-shaping of the mise en scene (that is the image of an image), they represent objects which are full of theoretical implications, being also fundamental tools for remembering movies.
