The rock art sites included in the Coa Valley Archaeological Park are classified as National Monument in accordance with Portuguese law and have also been included in UNESCO's World Heritage List. The aim of recently carried out research is the determination of which engraved outcrops are in worse condition. In a universe of more than 1000 outcrops with rock art, it is essential to establish priorities for conservation work in order to make the best use of available resources.
