Nevo anémico en la neurofibromatosis de tipo I. Un probable nuevo criterio diagnóstico

2017
Anemic nevus (AN) is a skin abnormality characterized by pale patches with irregular borders accentuated by the friction of the area. The association of neurofibromatosis 1 (NF1) and AN has been the object of retrospective and prospective studies in order to characterize the real prevalence of this linkage. Our goal was to document the finding of AN in our NF1 patients. We conducted a prospective and observational study of 44 children with NF1 for 5 months, derived to our Genodermatosis clinic. We performed clinical examination and complementary studies and compared the data collected with those obtained in the different series published in the literature. The most common clinical sign in patients with NF1 was the presence of cafe-au-lait macules . The prevalence of AN was 34%, being more frequent at the early ages. Its most common location was in the anterior third of the trunk. Coincidentally with the literature reviewed, AN has a higher prevalence in NF1. The presence of AN in NF1 assists in the diagnostic suspicion of the disease. The subtle clinical appearance of AN makes detection difficult and compromises pediatricians and dermatologists in NF1 research.
