A New Method for Measuring Axis of Flying Object

2010
For measuring axis parameters of a flying object from mono-view precisely,a new method was put forward.First, process object image obtained by segmenting from original image with Hough transform. Then calculate grayscale centroid of the result in Hough parameter compute space(HPCS).Finally, obtain axis parameters to denote location and orientation of the flying object. For the reason that the method exploits all grayscale information of the flying object in the original image, and it did not require high quality of image details, hence the proposed method can be applied in various objects with axial symmetry. The rotation and translation experiments illustrate that interpretation results are stable and precise, and the error can go to sub-pixel level.Consequently, the proposed method is accurate and effective on measuring axis of a flying object.
