Teachers' Attitudes Towards Grade-Skipping of the Gifted

Acceleration of the education is the presentation and application of an advanced curriculum to the students. The aim of the study is investigate the Teacher's opinion and awareness about accelerating and grade- skipping of gifted students in Turkey. The study conducted with 203 elementary school and 26 high school teachers in Turkey. The research findings indicate that most of teachers considered this approach is useful option for gifted students and grade-skipping is an effective strategy and the implementation of this strategy has positive results. Appropriate statistical analysis program was used in order to analyze research findings.
