Getting Down to Business at Council 2009

Once a year, members from all Branches gather at National Council to plan, debate and collaborate on issues of importance for the future of our Union. Over 140 members attended this year, along with staff from across the country. Formally speaking it is the meeting of our governing body. This year saw a number of new initiatives on our agenda, including the complex issues arising from campaigns around climate change and environmental sustainability, development of a formal NTEU Welcome to Land policy, and a commitment to bridge the gap in superannuation for Indigenous members.
