Effects of electrochemical doping of manganese dioxide with copper and lithium on the physicochemical properties

An electrochemical method has been used with fluoride electrolytes to synthesize specimens of manganese dioxide doped with copper and lithium. The compositions, structures, and physicochemical properties have been examined by chemical analysis and x-ray diffraction. It is found that the specimens have highly defective structures. Conclusions are drawn on the scope for using such products as electrode materials in chemical batteries and as catalysts based on manganese dioxide.
