Chimeric promoters and their uses

The present invention relates to a chimeric promoter and its use, the chimeric promoter comprising at least one cis element mosaic virus promoter, the cis-element mosaic virus promoter operably linked to at least a promoter Tsf1 cis-elements. Chimeric promoters of the invention facilitate expression of herbicide tolerance protein, in particular glyphosate tolerance proteins, and significantly enhances the tolerance to transgenic soybean plants to herbicides.
