Indicator for CO 2 concentration in seawater using DIC and DO

We developed a new indicator for CO 2 concentration in seawater using dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) and dissolved oxygen (DO) data as well as temperature data of seawater off Tomakomai. In order to confirm the universality of the new indicator, it was applied to ten sea areas, such as the U.S. West Coast. The result of the correlation between [ $\text{DIC}+0.722\text{DO}$ ] and temperature of each sea area is compared with the correlation between pCO 2 and DO saturation.
