[Heparin-induced thrombocytopenia in a patient with acute thrombosis, acute aortic dissection and acute lower limb ischaemia].

2013
Abstract This case report presents the course of illness, as well as the diagnosis and therapy, of acute thrombosis and abdominal aortic dissection after Fogarty thrombectomy with the symptoms of acute limb ischaemia in a 42-year-old female patient suffering from heparin-induced thrombocytopenia. HIT is a severe iatrogenic complication emerging after unfractionated or low molecular weight heparin administration, with rather easy diagnosis; however, it is often neglected due to the rarity of its occurrence.
