Moment formation in Fe0.5Al0.5

Abstract 57 Fe Mossbauer in-field measurements show in addition to the unsplit subspectrum arising from the ideal CsCl environment, a ferromagnetically ordered region which may result from Fe antistructure atoms in Al sites, and an environment with an electric field gradient consistent with fe vacancies distorting the otherwise charge symmetric CsCl structure.
