Hepatitis B viral infection is a worldwide problem. About 95% adult recovers from acute infection naturally. Anti HBs is a marker of recovery from acute hepatitis B. Anti HBs is a usually consistent with decline of cccDNA in hepatocytes. However there may be situations where viral rebound occurs due to persistence of cccDNA. This case report depicts such a picture. Measurement of cccDNA is perhaps essential before cure from hepatitis B infection can be declared.
