Luxation Injury of Primary Teeth - A Case Report

2013
Background: Dental trauma in children constitutes a major dental public health problem .There is no single dental disturbance that has greater psychological impact on both parents and child than the loss or fracture of anterior teeth. Luxation injuries are commonly seen in the primary dentition and cause damage to the pulp and periodontium. Difficulty in gaining compliance from a very young child and the risk of damaging the permanent tooth germ makes the management of these injuries challenging. Careful clinical and radiographic examination along with regular follow-up is essential. Here is a presentation of a case of lateral luxation to the maxillary left central incisor in a 2-year-old patient and its management.
