Türkiye’nin En İri Karpuzu Sürme Çeşidinin Meyve Verim ve Kalitesi Üzerine Azotlu Gübrelemenin Etkileri

2005
Surme is the biggest watermelon cultivar of Turkey and the World, having a symbolic importance on folkloric and cultural life of Diyarbakir province. This research was conducted to determine the effects of increasing fertilizer doses (0, 75, 150, 225 and 300 kg ha -1 ) of ammonium nitrate (AN) on yield, fruit weight and soluble solids of Surme cultivar. The effect of fertilizer doses on marketable yield was found to be significant. The marketable yield obtained from 225 kg AN ha -1 dose (70.4 kg pit -1 ) was found higher in comparison with the doses of 75 kg AN ha -1 (46.6 kg pit -1 ), 150 kg AN ha -1 (55.8 kg pit -1 ) and 300 kg AN ha -1 (65.6 kg pit -1 ) at rates of 34%, 21% and %7, respectively. The effect of ammonium nitrate doses on fruit weight was found to be significant and the biggest watermelon (34 kg) was obtained with the dose of 300 kg AN ha -1 .
