Influence of Maternal Oxygen Inhalation on Uteroplacental and Fetal Perfusion Measured by Doppler Sonography in Patients with Preterm Labor

1992
It was the aim of the present study to confirm and to pursue our previous nuclear medical investigations (Ruckhaberle et al. 1986) by using the Doppler ultrasound method to measure the uteroplacental, fetoplacental and fetal blood flow velocity waveforms in preterm labor. Apart from confirming impaired hemodynamics, we were especially interested to establish whether maternal oxygen inhalation could bring about any improvement of the impairment and result in a better pregnancy outcome.
