Short Term Photo Voltaic Power Prediction Using R-ELM Algorithm

In present days the power system, face many challenges like fall of generation, shortage of fossil fuels, enverniomental pollution and increase of energy demand. The above challenges encouraged the need of renewable resources which is highly emerging area in twenty first century. Specifically the solar energy generation has taken an important part in the present power scenario. Solar power generation fluctuates because of interference of temperature and irradiance. Given significant uncertainties concerned in PV power production, forecasting gives a novel result for the reservations and fluctuations in solar data. Proper and consistent PV power calculation is important to maintain performance of the power system. In this paper a recurrent ELM is applied for PV power forecasting followed by empirical mode decomposition (EMD). A set of non stationary historical time series data is decomposed first to different intrinsic mode functions (IMF) and then fed to RELM.
