Improved SnO2/C composite anode enabled by well-designed heterogeneous nanospheres decoration

Abstract Herein, a novel SnO2-based lithium-ion battery anode has been obtained by constructing well-designed hierarchical composite consisting of carbon coated SnO2 nanosheets decorated with carbon coated Sn nanospheres. It is demonstrated that thus as-prepared SnO2-based composite anode exhibits good lithium storage performance due to its beneficial structural features which can enhance both conductivity and structural stability of the whole composite electrode. This work may provide new insight into the construction of SnO2-based composite anodes with new structures.
