Heat Pumps Optimal Scheduling Based on Equivalent State Space Thermal Model

2020
Heat pump (HP) optimal scheduling can reduce the peak load, so it can make the capacity regulating transformer working on its smaller capacity mode and save consumers’ cost. In existing literatures, second-order equivalent thermal parametric (ETP) model is always used to approximate the building thermal model, but it has significant simulation errors. In this paper, we build the detailed building thermal model using Dymola, and an equivalent state space thermal model (ESSTM) is obtained from this complex model. Since the ESSTM is formulated by linear difference equations, it can be easily integrated into the optimal scheduling model. We propose a look-ahead two-stage optimal scheduling strategy to coordinate HPs and distribution networks. The simulation results show that our model is much more precise than the conventional ETP based models and can be used to reduce the peak load and mitigate voltage violations.
