Conductivity and water permeability of barrier-layer AlCl3 as a function of temperature

1988
Abstract Corrosion experiments were performed with a shielded electrode of 99.999% aluminum in the anode facing up position in saturated aluminum chloride at temperatures of 20–90°C to obtain properties of the barrier-layer AlCl 3 film. High-field conduction parameters and hydrogen current density were determined as a function of temperature. Apparent water permeability coefficient through the film based on hydrogen current density and its activation energy were evaluated.
