The invention discloses a method and a device for RMB optically variable ink recognition based on optical fiber and relates to detection of optically variable ink. The method includes the steps of (1), selecting optical filters according to currency value of RMB to be detected while the RMB currency is transferred through a currency feeding device and an optically variable ink area of each currency is irradiated by a light source transmission module at the angle of 60 degrees; (2) filtering light reflected from the optically variable ink area through the optical filter and then acquiring and processing light signals which are filtered; (3) inputting the processed light signals to a control system, comparing the processed light signals to the number of real currency to achieve currency detection, and then displaying 'real' and 'counterfeit' through an LCD. The device comprises the currency feeding device, a light source, a condensing device, a collecting device, the light filter, an optical signal acquiring and processing module and the control system.
