Industries, biostratigraphie, restes humains et datation du gisement moustérien de la Baume Néron (Soyons, Ardèche)

1994
New excavations at la Baume Neron provide abundant archaeological materials. Biostratigraphy studies show that the human settlement occurred during a cold period at the beginning of the last glacial period. Radiocarbon dating gives an age of 43,000±1,100 years BP. Lithic materials are related to the Quina facies of the Charentian complex. Such industry may be compared to that of Champ Grand at Saint-Maurice-sur-Loire (42). The discovery of human remains also constitutes one of the main interests of the site
