COMPUTER ANIMATION IN PROJECT-BASED CLASSROOM – „DRAGON'S TOWN“

2015
The purpose of this paper is to examine students' perceptions and attitudes regarding the role and importance of animation-based learning and developing skills via multimedia presentations. The paper describes creativity and designing techniques used in the making of the animated film "Dragon's Town (Pozojevo mesto)" during extracurricular activities of secondary school students. Project-oriented work, which engages students in the process of interactive learning, is proposed as one of the methods for upgrading the existing, conventional teaching. In order for students to reach a clearly defined and challenging goal, they should develop and perfect several skills including practical animation, graphic and multimedia design, organizational skills, project planning and working in a team. Students are also given the opportunity to boost their self-confidence and improve creative skills, such as critical thinking, problem solving, articulating, explaining and visualizing.
