Research of Operation Range for Passive Laser IFF System

The structure of system and work principle is analyzed for passive laser identification of friend or foe(IFF) system in this paper.By equivalent replacing of system laser beams transmission,the laser beams transmitting model basing on Gaussian beams theory is established by laser parameter of laser wavelength,peak power,divergence angle,etc.In order to solve the problem of hard-edged apertures in system,the method that new Gaussian beams derived from original Gaussian beams is adopted.Under the atmosphere attenuation were considered,the relation between energy density of laser echo and system operation range is simulated.The method that could improve system operation range is analyzed.The research result has reference value to the design of passive laser IFF system.On the other hand,the research result provide help for evaluating operation range of passive laser IFF system.
