1P-207 : Organic semiconductor based on asymmetric naphthalene-thiophene molecule for organic thin film transistor

2014
In this work, a new asymmetric semiconductor named5-(6-decylnaphthalen- 2-yl)-5-(naphthalene-2-yl)-2,2-bithiophene (NBTND) was designed and synthesized by the palladium catalyzed Suzuki coupling reaction for organic thin film transistor (OTFT). The structure of NBTND was assigned by NMR and IR and the performance of NBTND was characterized by UV-visible spectroscopy, cyclovoltammetry, thermogravimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimetry. The asymmetric molecule has high thermal stability and good oxidation stability as HOMO level of -5.35 eV. The thin film transistor using new asymmetric semiconductor exhibited the field effect mobility of 2.68×10-2 ㎠ V-1s-1.
