Tribologische Charakterisierung von Sialon-SiC-Mischkeramiken im Hinblick auf den Einsatz in Kraftstoff geschmierten Gleitsystemen

Sialon ceramics with additions of SiC were tribologically characterized with respect to their possible application in a high pressure pump for gasoline direct injection. Experiments were carried out in a laboratory tribometer under oscillating sliding conditions lubricated with isooctane. Results show that frictional behaviour could be positively influenced by the addition of SiC and an adjusted thermochemically treatment of the ceramics under a nitrogen atmosphere. Friction coefficient was reduced up to 30 % to a value of about μ = 0.1.
