This study presents an experimental investigation on performance characteristics of a thermosyphon heat pipe having inner grooves which uses FC40 and water as working fluids by conducting an experiment depending on volume fraction of two types of working fluids. Results show non-uniform wall temperature and the relative increase of degree of superheat as volume fraction rises. Heat transfer limitations as well as heat transfer coefficients of evaporator and condenser increase once water is charged. But heat transfer coefficients of evaporator and condenser are less than one tenth of the case using water as a working fluid.
