Search for top squark pair production in the dielectron channel

This report describes the first search for top squark pair production in the channel {tilde t}{sub 1}{ovr {tilde t}}{sub 1}{r_arrow}b{bar b}{tilde {chi}}{sub 1}{sup +}{tilde {chi}}{sub 1}{sup {minus}}{r_arrow}ee+jets+E/{sub T} using 74.9{plus_minus}8.9 pb{sup {minus}1} of data collected using the DO/ detector. A 95{percent} confidence level upper limit on {sigma}{center_dot}B is presented. The limit is above the theoretical expectation for {sigma}{center_dot}B for this process, but does show the sensitivity of the current DO/ data set to a particular topology for new physics. {copyright} {ital 1997} {ital The American Physical Society}
