Aboriginality and Journalism: From the Classroom to the Newsroom

Assoc Prof Minelle Mahtani - Department of Geography & Planning & Program in Journalism University of Toronto. Assoc Prof Mahtani is Chair of CERIS - (Centre for Excellence on Research on Immigration and Settlement, Ontario Metropolis Centre) and President, ACS (Association for Canadian Studies). Brenda Nadjiwan is chairperson & a founding member of SABAR. Brenda Nadjiwan is also a member of the Chippewas of Nawash Band. As coordinator of the Aboriginal Workforce Participation Initiative (AWPI) for the Ontario Region of Indian & Northern Affairs Canada, Brenda enjoys working collaboratively with both Aboriginal & corporate communities.
