Upgrading of agricultural and agro-industrial wastes: The desalification of concentrated beet vinasses

Abstract Laboratory and pre-pilot scale experiments for the desalification of concentrated beet vinasses are described. Ethanol and sulphuric acid in appropriate quantities separate potassium salts from the distillery effluents. The final products of the process have a chemical composition suitable for the preparation of feed and fertiliser formulations.
