Az alvás és a katonai szolgálat

2021
Persistently present increased daytime sleepiness is a severe disorder of sleep-wake regulation that is often misdiagnosed and mistreated. Sleep deprivation can cause a decreased performance, loss of ef-ficiency, and mood disorders; entails tension, depression, aggression, exhaustion, and confusion. This is a disadvantage in combat readiness and contributes to the development of so-called combat stress. For those who suffer from increased daytime sleepiness, it is extremely important to determine whether there is a lack of sleep caused by environmental conditions or some form of sleep disturbance. Uncomfortable working and sleeping conditions, rapid pace of operations, lasting military operations, and inadequate supply personnel are increasingly bringing fatigue in the foreground. A significant element of military efficiency, a direct human factor, is the deterioration of performance in stressful conditions, especially sleep deprivation. If the enemy has a significant sleep advantage, it poses a serious danger.
