Seodongyo is the poetry written by Seodong with the objection of getting married to Princess `Sunhwa`. Seodong was a widow`s son. later he became King `Mu` of Backje and build `Mireuk` Temple. That is the background of Seodongyo. Now I think Seodong is two men. one is King `Mugang` in the period of Samhan and he established Gunma which lay under Mt. Yonghwain Iksan. When he was a child, he was called Seodong. he married Princess `Sunhwa` of a neighboring country, Saro. He composed Seodongyo to marry her. Some time later, this poetry became Hang-ga and Sunhwa of Saro mistaken for the princess of Shinla. The other is King `Mu` of Backje. His mother was a widow who lived near Namgunggi in Buyeo. In his childhood, his name was Seodong, too. But actually he is of royal blood. His father is King `Beob` of Backje. After his father died, he took the throne and became King `Mu`. he was a devout believer of Buddhism. So he build a temple to depend the fatherland. That is `Mireuk` Temple. It is located under Mt. Yonghwa in Iksan. But in the present, the site of this temple remains. By now, The fable `Seodong` in Samguksagi is known as only one person`s story and it is believed that he made not only poetry but also temple. As a matter of fact, Seodong is two men. they are King `Mugang` of Gunma and King `Mu` of Backje. The first half of this fable is the story about King `Mugang` who is king of Gunma and the latter half is about King `Mu` who build `Mireuk` Temple. These two stories are put together. So the present Seodongyo is not the writing of King `Mu` of Backje. But that of King `Mugang` of Gunma. The reasons that two stories became one are that they had the same name, Seodong, as a child, that their names are similar and that they had the same field of action, Iksan.
