Psychosocial interventions in a case of fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva: A case report

Introduction: The developmental needs and challenges of children with chronic illness are different from those of a normal childhood. Moreover, rare disease with no effective treatment option and poor prognosis is devastating for parents also. Case Report: This case report aims to present guided sustained adaptation of a child from India who was diagnosed as a case of fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva. The child and her parents were referred for psychological intervention in view of rare genetic disease to facilitate positive health.
