Analytical calibration of the two-geometry method for uranium enrichment verification in a gas centrifuge

1990
Abstract The two-geometry method is an approved technique to verify the uranium enrichment of UF 6 in centrifuge cascade header pipes. Two analytical calculations, Monte Carlo and numerical integration of expressions derived from geometrical arguments, have been applied to determine the detector geometry constants to simplify optimizing the pair of detector collimator geometries. Comparisons are presented for two pairs of collimators: an uncollimated and a collimated geometry; and a parallel collimated and a perpendicular collimated geometry. Both Monte Carlo and numerical integration techniques qualitatively predict the characteristics of this enrichment measurement.
