Study of laparoscopic hysterectomy of gigantic uterus (report of 34 cases)

Objective:To investigate the clinical value and operating techniques of laparoscopic hysterectomy of gigantic uteri. Methods:Thirty-four cases which uteris were larger than twelve-weeks pregnant uteri accepted laparoscopic hysterectomy. Some operating techniques were improved.Results: All operations were performed successfully under laparoscopy. No operating complication happened in any cases.The operating time was (98.7±34.1)min, blood loss in operation was (128±30)ml ,the average hospitalization time was 4.6 days.Conclusions:Laparoscopic hysterectomy of gigantic uteri is safe and feasible. It doesn't increase operating danger and complications, but operators must grasp operating techniques skillfully.
