Battery fixing structure of electric vehicle

1992
PURPOSE: To absorb collision energy acting on the car body, by operating by sensing the deformation of a front side member which is deformed in order to reduce the shock at collision, and by loading a battery. CONSTITUTION: A holder in which guide grooves are formed along the car length direction is fixed to the lower side of the body of an electric vehicle, and a bracket 14 fixed to a battery carrier 12 is hooked to the guide grooves. On the upper side of the battery carrier 12, a wire guide 46 bent to the front side of a car body B is provided, and a wire 48 fixed to the front side of a front side member 54 is hung to the wire guide 46 so as to restrict the carrier 12 to the lower side of the car body B. When the car collides, the front side member 54 is deformed, the wire 48 is loosened, and the carrier 12 is released from the restricting condition. As a result, the carrier moves to the front side of the car body, an energy absorbing guide 40 bends an energy absorbing plate in order, and the kinetic energy of the battery is absorbed.
