Beam-beam issues from the recent PEP-II commissioning

We present a review of experimental results obtained during the commissioning of the SLAC PEP-II B Factory in the ’98 –’99 winter run. Diagnostic procedures implemented to control and optimize the collisions in terms of beam sizes and luminosity are described. Results on luminosity and beam-beam tune shifts achieved in different modes of operation are presented and discussed.
