ABSTRACT Urine Benjones protest is an important laboratory investigation for diagnosis of multiple myeloma. This test is a useful non-invasive test in clinical onocology. An important concern in laboratory medicine is the accuracy of the test. In this article, the authors report the study on the interference effect of gold nanoparticle on urine Bence Jone protein test. According to the study, there is an alteration of urine Bence Jones protein test due to interference by gold nanoparticle. In conclusion, gold nanoparticle can cause interference on laboratory investigation for urine Bence Jones protein test.
