Reactions of Niobium and Tantalum Ethoxides with Benzoyl Hydrazones

Abstract Niobium and tantalum pentaethoxides react with bifunctional tridentate benzoyl hydrazones (BH2) in refluxing benzene to give products of the type M(OEt)5–2n (B)n (where M - Nb or Ta and n = 1 or 2). The complexes have been characterised on the basis of elemental analysis and i.r. and 1Hn.m.r. spectra.
