Synthesis of bis-heteroaryl piperazine derivatives as potential reverse transcriptase inhibitors

Vinylogous analogs of non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors belonging to the bis-(hetero-aryl)piperazine (BHAP) series were synthesized by coupling a piperazine derivative with (E)-propenoyl derivatives of heterocyclic moieties.
