Application of the discrete wavelet transform to fault detection of angular measuring system of a precision servo turntable

The angular measuring system error signal of the inertia test equipments is investigated in this paper. On the basis of the wavelet theory, and the discrete wavelet transformation is presented as a signal processing technique, and the model of the angular measuring system error discontinuity is established. The discrete wavelet transformation can analyse the signal in the angular and frequency - domains, thus the useful information in the error signal can be obtained from the multi - level discrete wavelet transformation decomposition. The experimental result shows it is practical and effective to detect the faults.
