Method and apparatus for determining an impact location of an object on a vehicle

The invention relates to a method for determining an impact location (125) of an object (120) on a vehicle (100). The method includes a step of reading a first sensor signal value of a first sensor (110) of the vehicle (100) to a predetermined first time, a second sensor signal value of the first sensor (110) at a first point in time subsequent predetermined second time and a sample of a second sensor (115) of the vehicle (100) to a second point in time following the third predetermined point in time. Further, the method includes a step of calculating an interpolation point from the first sensor signal value and the second sensor signal value using the sample, wherein at least one component of the interpolation point corresponding to the sample. In a further step, determining a time interval between an associated interpolating the interpolation point and the third time is carried out. Finally, a step of using the time interval is performed to determine the impact location (125) of the object (120).
