The fact that preferences for different foods are correlated suggests the existence of underlying psychological dimensions.Studies of soldiers’ food preferences revealed certain basic dimensions of food preference. Some factors consisted of a generalized liking for certain conventional food classes such as fruits or desserts, but other preference factors tended to cut across food classes or were only a small part of a class.
