Colorimetric determination of ascorbic acid

Ascorbic acid reacts with diazotizedp-aminobenzoic acid in alkaline medium giving pink color which obeys Beer's law from 600μg to 2 mg/30 ml. The method has been used for the determination of ascorbic acid in pharmaceutical preparations containing sugars and other vitamins.
